The Journey

Despite a tight production schedule and the challenges of burnout, our dedicated team of students came together to create a show we can all be proud of. We faced many obstacles, but our perseverance and collaborative spirit led to numerous victories. This production stands as a testament to what can be achieved when passionate and committed individuals work together towards a common goal.

I had the privilege of serving as the Technical Director for the complex production of "Herakles" at CalArts. My responsibilities included coordinating with the director and designers to ensure their creative visions were realized within our resource and schedule constraints. I fostered a collaborative environment, enabling element supervisors to work together and produce an exceptional technical design.

In this role, I managed labor, logistics, material ordering, budgeting, and scheduling. Despite significant obstacles, we overcame them swiftly with the dedication and resilience of our team. Balancing a tight production schedule with the well-being of our team was challenging, but our collective efforts and effective communication made it possible.

The result was a production that showcased the talent and hard work of everyone involved. "Herakles" stands as a testament to what can be achieved when a passionate and committed team comes together to bring a shared vision to life. As the main facilitator for all production activities, I communicated the design team's needs to the element supervisors and led drafting, build, construction, and strike calls.
